Detailed Explanation of Process Service Prices and How They Are Charged
Summons are usually served with a petition or complaint attached. This constitutes as one serve. This is one charge of $40.00 plus $.51 per mile incurred in the service of the process and a $2.00 per page Notary Fee (usually one page) on the return of service, if notarization is required in your state. It is required in Missouri. We can supply an Affidavit of Service if you do not provide a "Return of Service" page. Please include your states requirements of Proof of Service (All information that is required on an Affidavit of Service in your state). Service in Missouri for a circuit court summons must be made within thirty days from date of issuance of the summons. Records Subpoenas are $25.00 plus mileage incurred on the service and a $2.00 notarization fee. We will supply you with an affidavit of service if you do not provide a blank one. In Missouri, a subpoena may be served right up to the last minute before the scheduled court hearing. This is an order to supply records or some sort of evidence.
Witness Subpoenas are $35.00 plus mileage incurred on the service and a $2.00 notarization fee. We will supply you with an affidavit of service if you do not provide a blank one. Unlawful Detainers can be posted, served or both. To recover just the property, in Missouri a posting is required. To recover the property as well as funds owed, personal service is also required. Posting must be done at least ten days before the court date and service on the respondent must be effected at least four days prior to the court date. We charge $25.00 to post and $50.00 to serve. Many times this a difficult service, as experience has shown us, a lot of people try to dodge service of this type. We charge for mileage incurred and notarization on the return of service. We can serve your Restraining Order or Order of Protection (Ex Parte). We charge $50 for the service, mileage incurred and a notary fee on the return of service. These are considered as orders and are effective immediately upon service. These are also considered an “emergency” and are served as soon as possible. We will estimate costs and expect payment prior to the service from Non-Attorneys.

Service of all Other Legal Process, including liens or intent to file a lien are considered basic service and are $40.00 for the service. A mileage charge of $.51 per mile as incurred and Notary Fee of $2.00 when required. All legal process will be served in accordance with the laws of the state from which it was issued. All prices are listed in our 2010 Schedule of Fees.
Rush Process Service is an additional $40 per service and is given top priority. We will do whatever we can to meet your deadline, whenever it may be.
We will negotiate discounts on multiple serves to the same address on a case by case basis. We will pick up your legal process free of charge within a thirty mile radius of our Overland (St. Louis), Missouri office. We will also file your return of service to any court within a thirty mile radius of our office as well.
Skip Tracing is a term for relocating and is needed when an address you have provided is incorrect or is no longer a valid address for your defendant / respondent. The service cannot be accomplished now without relocating the individual. We charge $15.00 an hour for research time and from $2.00 - $10 per each search from our data base. Many times we have to feed information into more information several times to get the data we need. Mileage is charged as well at $0.51 per mile incurred for verification of the new location. The mileage is usually charged as another serve attempt. We have a very high success rate on our relocating, but we cannot guarantee that relocating will always be successful and you will be billed for our efforts regardless of the outcome.
We offer Surveillance relating to the service of legal process. This a $25.00 per hour charge plus mileage incurred as well as $5.00 each for any photos requested.
